The Sach is Bulgaria's traditional cooking dish, it is available in three sizes, 25cm, 30cm and 33cm diameters and is 5cm deep, the different sizes are suitable to serve approximately 2, 4 or 6 people.
The Bulgarian Sach is made by hand from a special type of clay that is thick and heavy and enables it to be used both on direct heat on the hob and in the oven.
The Bulgarian Sach oozes a sense of tradition and charm, it is designed to go straight from the hob or oven to the table and comes with a hand crafted ornate metal stand with hand turned wooden handles. The clay used to make the Sach has excellent heat retention properties so your food will remain hot for 20 to 30 minutes at the table.
Our Sach dishes come pre-seasoned and are ready for you to start cooking, just wipe inside and out (apart from the base) with a layer of oil.
DO NOT immerse the Sach in water or put in a dishwasher. To clean simply turn the dish on its side and rub gently with a mild scourer under running water to remove food particles from the dish.The clay is very porous and prolonged immersion in water will damage the dish.
